NJ State AFL-CIO, Representing One Million New Jersey Union Members Endorse Senator Sgt. Bob Andrzejczak, Assemblyman Capt. Bruce Land, and Assemblyman Matt Milam in Legislative District One Race
Andrzejczak, Land, and Milam proud to receive high profile endorsement; commit to fighting for working families
(Cape May Courthouse) – Senator Sgt. Bob Andrzejczak, Assemblyman Capt. Bruce Land, and Assemblyman Matt Milam announced their endorsement from the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. Andrzejczak, running in a 2019 special election, was the union’s only Senate endorsement of the cycle.
“I’m humbled to receive the endorsement of the AFL-CIO and proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish together, especially our recent expansion of paid family leave. It’s reforms like these that will help hard working New Jerseyans make ends meet and stay in good paying jobs that provide a path to the middle class. I look forward to continuing to work with the AFL-CIO to protect our workers, create more jobs in South Jersey, and make New Jersey a more affordable place to live,” said Senator Andrzejczak.
“I was a member of the NJ State Policemen’s Benevolent Association for 25 years. It’s union jobs like these that put food on the table for millions of New Jersey residents” said Assemblyman Land. “Organized labor built the middle class in this state. I will always support our brothers and sisters in the movement.”

“As a small business owner, I always knew how important it was to pay a fair wage and provide good benefits for the men and women we employed” said Assemblyman Milam. “The people in New Jersey are being squeezed every day. We need to create the opportunities for small businesses like mine to thrive in South Jersey and do everything we can to ensure that the residents of this state have meaningful, well paid work.”

Over 500 delegates, representing 1,000 labor unions and one million union members, participated in the AFL-CIO’s endorsement process. The size and strength of the union makes their endorsement one of the most important of the election cycle. “After last year’s historic victory for working families, the labor movement will once again mobilize to secure across-the-board victories for pro-worker candidates and strengthen the voice of organized labor throughout New Jersey,” said Charles Wowkanech, President of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO.

“This year’s endorsed candidates understand the challenges facing the middle class and will work to put the interests of New Jersey’s working families first,” added Wowkanech.
