NJ Transit will reopen the Atlantic City Rail Line almost two weeks earlier than expected with additional lines, Gov. Phil Murphy said Wednesday during a speech at a transportation conference in the resort.
The rail line will now open May 12, rather than May 24 as previously announced.
While we welcome this news, we lament that it did not come in January as we were initially promised. This has proved to be too grave a hardship for countless South Jersey commuters. Hopefully this is the start of improved leadership and a reinvigorated NJ Transit. #TeamSouthJersey
We must continue to support the agency and provide it with adequate resources, and, in turn, NJ Transit must work to meet and exceed its obligation to the residents of South Jersey.
